The next day they open the same blank box and explain their context all over again. It is faster than no AI. But the person is still doing the work.
An AI agent can use information and tools to work towards a goal: inspect a request, find relevant facts, propose a next step and prepare an output. It needs a defined task, appropriate permissions and checks that reflect the real business. A chatbot can be useful without taking action; a fixed automation can be more predictable than an agent.
